03 Oct September Favourites
I’m so excited to be doing my very first September Favourites blog post; I’ve always wanted to do one of these and I enjoy reading them so much. I’m pleased to be starting this in the autumn as it’s my favourite time of the year, and I feel as if all my chosen things reflect the season in one way or another. This month I had quite a few things to choose from as it was my birthday but I managed to narrow it down to six of the things that I’ve been loving and using the most.
I never expected to find such a cute frame on Amazon! I’ve been really wanting to make my room feel a bit more ‘finished’ lately as the walls are pretty bare; I’m planning on collecting a few different types of frames to give my room some more character. This is my very first pick and I’m in love with it – the butterfly print actually came with the frame and I don’t even want to change it!
I, fortunately, had the chance to try some of these lovely matcha green teas and I was so pleasantly surprised. I’m really glad this company exists as I’m hoping it will deter people from purchasing other skinny teas, which contain harmful ingredients and laxatives. My Matcha is 100% natural and even safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you’re not so keen on the flavour of matcha I would recommend purchasing a flavour blend like the one I tried, they’re subtle and sweet! I am not the type of person to try ‘skinny teas’ at all, but I love this brand as it has a lovely, comforting taste and will hopefully give me some more energy and focus.
Topshop has such a cute jewellery range of semi-precious stones at the moment; you should definitely check them out if you’re into that kind of thing. I’m in love with this one, as I’ve always wanted to have one of my birthstones on a ring before. I’ve always been so drawn to Jade (I assume its because green is my favourite colour) so I just had to have this ring! Jade is said to bless anything that it touches, so who wouldn’t want that?! I really want to go back and purchase my four other birthstones too, they are so pretty and dainty; I love how the band wraps around the bottom of the stone. I couldn’t find the ring online, so have linked the necklace version instead.
I’m pretty sure everyone is familiar with this podcast by now but I’m a bit late to the podcast hype. I discovered the ‘No Sleep’ Podcast a few months ago but I’ve gotten into it so much recently, it’s really got me into the Halloween spirit. I listen to it when I’m walking, shopping, doing work, drawing, and pretty much anything else… I’m obsessed. It’s such a great quality spooky podcast; the music, voice acting and sound effects are all chosen so well. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes scary stories.
Even though Ray Bradbury has been on my radar for ages, I’ve never thought to read one of his books. Luckily, I haven’t seen the film adaptation, so I have no idea what happens in the story, but I love it so far. His style of writing is so unique to me and poetic. I actually decided to read this because someone said it was great for getting into the Autumnal spirit, and it really is – not to mention it’s also perfect for Halloween.
I have been spending far too much money on Yankee Candles lately – I’m still using the ones that I got last Christmas! I have been lighting this candle pretty much every day because it reminds me of a cool autumn morning or evening. There’s a slight citrusy smell to begin with and it also reminds me of fresh herbs. I’m terrible at describing smells – but just trust me, it definitely lives up to its name.
