12 Feb Ocado Vegan Food Haul – Part One
I’m sure the majority of people realise what a gem this supermarket food delivery service is, particularly if you’re vegan. The selection of Ocado vegan food is so, so good! It’s a little pricey, and you have to order a minimum of £40, so I definitely don’t order from here often, but when I do it’s pretty exciting (being excited about a supermarket delivery is how you know you’re really an old lady at heart). Ocado have been killing it with all the vegan products lately so I did a shop and am going to separate it into two blog posts!
Fry’s Frozen Sausage Rolls
Probably one of the tastiest sausage rolls I’ve ever had, they’re such good quality for frozen food! I love that you don’t have to coat them with milk, because that’s messy, and I’m lazy. They take about 30 minutes in the oven, which is quite a long time, but they’re totally worth it. They’re a source of protein, fibre, and non-GMO! I’d definitely buy these again.
Ocado Free From Mozzarella Style Slices
It’s so great that Ocado have decided to release their very own vegan range – so far I’m pretty impressed! I’m yet to try this on pizza so I suppose this isn’t a comprehensive enough review… I’ll update once I have. I have melted it on top of a pasta bake though and it melted quickly and perfectly. This cheese definitely tastes better when melted as opposed to straight out of the packet, and I love that they come in slices! These are gluten-free, wheat-free, and coconut based. This product wouldn’t be my first choice of a mozzarella alternative (the Mozzrisella would be), but I’m sure I’ll purchase this again in the future.
Mighty Bee Coconut Jerky – Teriyaki
I’m not going to lie; I really wasn’t a fan of this product. The taste was not my thing at all, and I usually love teriyaki. I thought the texture was spot on though, so it’s probably worth a try if you have a beef jerky craving. It’s raw, organic, and counts as 1 of your 5 a day, but it’s also pretty expensive, and the portion size is tiny.
Taifun Tofu Hot Dog
These are the best hot dogs ever in my opinion, and they’re the reason that I never get hot dogs when I’m out – these are honestly so good, and really cheap (compared to a £6 hot dog you’d get when you’re at a restaurant). It doesn’t say how to cook them on the packet, so I tend to just put them under the grill for roughly 5 minutes; they heat up super quick. They can be eaten cold, and they’re organic!
Fry’s Southern-Style Tenders
Just when I thought Fry’s couldn’t come out with anything better, they really did it. This has got to be one of my favourite vegan products ever – I know I say that a lot, but vegan food is just getting so good! This product is authentically seasoned in a light and crispy batter; it’s high in protein, and non-GMO. It goes so well in a wrap with salad and Follow Your Heart mayo!
Follow Your Heart Smoked Gouda Style Slices
This cheese tastes so similar to smoked cheese, I’d definitely recommend this product; it tastes amazing on crackers and in sandwiches. This is one of my favourite vegan cheeses because I tend to like the milder tasting products. It’s soya free and non-GMO!
Let me know if there are any products on Ocado that you love!
